FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR PILC FELLOWS
Each year, graduating NYU Law JD students are invited to apply for the NYU Public Interest Law Center (PILC) Fellowship with a public interest host organization in the United States or abroad. The fellowship is for one year and begins in the fall following graduation. As of 2024, the fellowship provides a stipend of $50,000.
Applicants must propose a legal project that they will execute at their host organization. The project does not need to be novel, but it should address a specific issue area of critical need on which their work with the organization will focus.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to review PILC’s guidance on project fellowships in preparing their applications.
Prospective applicants or host organizations can reach out to Katie Neilson with any additional questions.
