Professional Responsibility in Family Practice

Taught by Peggy Cooper Davis
Developed in collaboration with Kris L. Franklin and Danielle Davenport

Professional Responsibility in Family Practice is a version of the Family Practice course extended to address issues of professional responsibility more explicity and in more depth.

Issues involving loyalty to clients, loyalties to social and legal systems, conflicts of interest and client autonomy are studied as they arise in the simulated family practice settings.  Pressures experienced by students as they perform in role illustrate and illuminate questions about the individual construction of professional roles and the satisfaction of  legally mandated professional responsibilities.
