Transitional Justice Leadership Program

Each year, the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice (CHRGJ) selects a small number of incoming NYU Law LLM students to take part in the Transitional Justice Leadership Program. Developed in consultation with prominent figures in the transitional justice field, the program provides an opportunity for LLM students to engage through coursework, scholarship, and internships with CHRGJ’s Transitional Justice Project, which brings together teaching, documentation, research, and convenings on topics such as criminal prosecutions, truth commissions, institutional reform, and reparations programs in countries undergoing a transition to democracy in the aftermath of conflict or of authoritarianism. The Transitional Justice Project is led by Professor Pablo de Greiff, who served as UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion of truth, justice, reparation and guarantees of non-recurrence from May 2012 through May 2018. Program on Corporate Compliance and Enforcement

The NYU Program on Corporate Compliance and Enforcement (PCCE) is a law and research program dedicated to developing a richer and deeper understanding of the causes of corporate misconduct and the nature of effective enforcement and compliance. Directed by faculty director Jennifer Arlen '86, PCCE seeks to help shape optimal enforcement policy, guide firms in developing more effective and robust compliance programs, and enhance education in the field of corporate compliance and enforcement through practical discourse and legal scholarship. Each year, several students are accepted into the program, enabling them to gain unparalleled expertise in this area, both through courses and through access to leading practitioners. No other leading law school offers the same depth and breadth of courses by full-time faculty in this area. For more information, please visit the Program on Corporate Compliance and Enforcement website.

Advanced Certificate in Law & Business

The ACLB provides law students with tools necessary to understand the finance and accounting that underlie the transactions and business structures that lawyers design. The program is uniquely designed for future business lawyers. It permits students to receive graduate level business school training in conjunction with their legal education and to earn an Advanced Certificate from the NYU Stern School of Business. The program gives an accessible academic dimension to corporate law studies. Furthermore, among its advantages, the graduate business school curriculum covers basic techniques and practices of business without requiring students to dedicate the extended time to earn an MBA degree.
