Clémence Boulouque

A graduate from the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris, the ESSEC business school, Ms. Boulouque holds a BA in Art History from the Sorbonne as well as a DEA (one-year post MA French diploma) in Comparative Literature. She also received a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue her studies at Columbia University in the Master’s Program of International Affairs with a concentration on the Middle-East.

Andrea Cooper

Ph.D. candidate at New York University in the Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies. She received her combined honors B.A. in English Literature and Contemporary Studies at the University of King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia, receiving the medals for highest achievement in both departments upon graduation.

Yosef Lindell

Yosef’s first foray into academic Jewish scholarship was as an undergraduate at Yeshiva University, where his senior thesis, “Beacon of Renewal: the Educational Philosophy of the Lida Yeshiva in the Context of Rabbi Isaac Jacob Reines Approach to Zionism,” was published in Modern Judaism (2009). After graduating summa cum laude from Yeshiva in 2007 with a major in History and a minor in Jewish Studies, Yosef completed an MA in Medieval Jewish History at the Bernard Revel Graduate School.

RESEARCH:

Donald Meltzer

Has been a career investment banker specializing in mergers and acquisitions, holding senior management positions at Credit Suisse, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, and Cowen and Company, where he now serves part-time as Managing Director - Senior Advisor. Mr. Meltzer has an AB in History from Harvard College and a JD from NYU School of Law. He currently serves on the board of the Shalom Hartman Institute and on the Board of Governors of the American Jewish Committee.

Michael Pollack

Graduated from Swarthmore College in 2008 with Highest Honors, having majored in political science and minored in economics. During his time at Swarthmore, he had the incredible opportunity to intern at the State Department's Office of Nordic and Baltic Affairs in Washington, DC.

Erick Rabin

Graduate student in the Philosophy PhD program at Boston University. He graduated from Duke University in 2009 with a concentration in philosophy and economics, earning high distinction for his senior honors thesis entitled "Modern Cosmopolitanism."

Arie Rosen

J.S.D. candidate in New York University School of Law concentrating on legal and political philosophy. He is writing his doctoral dissertation on the relations between models of legal authority and the question of the concept of law, under the supervision of Professor Jeremy Waldron.

Ari Savitzky

Grew up in Providence, Rhode Island, and graduated from Brown University in 2006. At Brown, he co-edited the opinions section of The Brown Daily Herald, served on the undergraduate student government and as president of the Class of 2006, and delivered one of the 2006 commencement orations.

Erin Scharff

Before law school, Erin worked in DC as an advocate (at the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism) and researcher (at the Service Employees International Union) as well as a campaign staffer. In 2008, Erin worked on the Obama campaign, starting off as a volunteer in Iowa before joining the campaign full-time for the Ohio primary.

Mishael Zion

Faculty Fellow at the Skirball Center for Adult Jewish Learning and a student at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah (YCT) Rabbinical School. Hailing from Jerusalem, Mishael served on the faculty of the Hartman Institute and worked for Israeli Television’s Channel Two. Mishael studied Anthoropolgy and Jewish Thought at Hebrew University and yeshiva studies at Yeshivat Maale Gilboa.
