Marina Bericua
Global Associate Professor of Law
Marina Bericua serves as the Director of Government Affairs, Corporate, and Legal Affairs for Microsoft in Argentina and Uruguay. Previously, she held the position of Director of Legal and Compliance at JPMorgan Argentina, overseeing operations in Chile, Uruguay, and Peru. Additionally, she has been the Director of the Master’s in Business Law program at the University of San Andrés, an Advisor to the Board of the National Securities Commission of Argentina and a Banking Senior Associate at Bruchou, Fernandez Madero and Lombardi Law Firm. Bericua also taught in the Law and MBA programs at the University of San Andrés. She is a Board Member of various industry associations, including the Argentine Chamber of Software and the Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications of the Argentine Republic and of the non-profit organization "Chicas en Tecnología". Bericua holds a law degree from the University of Buenos Aires, an LL.M. degree from Columbia University Law School, and is a Fulbright Scholar.
Paola Bergallo
Global Associate Professor of Law
Paola Bergallo is a professor at the Law School and, by courtesy, at the School of Government of Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Argentina. She is a member of the country’s national research institution (CONICET) and a global fellow at the Center for Law and Social Transformation at Bergen University. She has been a visiting professor and scholar at several Latin American Universities and at the Universities of Madrid, Pompeu Fabra, Bergen, Princeton, and Harvard.
Professor Bergallo’ scholarly and advocacy work has focused on comparative and empirical studies on gender and health rights. She has been an expert witness before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, the Colombia Constitutional Court, and the Argentine Congress. She is a member of the Seminario de Teoría Constitucional (SELA) hosted by Yale Law School, and a founding member of Red Alas, where she directs the research program on gender, law and public policy.
Professor Bergallo holds a JSM and JSD from Stanford Law School, an LLM from Columbia University, and an LLB with honors from Universidad de Buenos Aires. She has received fellowships from the Norwegian Research Council, Fulbright, the Hewlett Foundation, and Stanford Law School.
Andrés de la Cruz

Mr. de la Cruz is a partner in the New York and Buenos Aires offices of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. Mr. de la Cruz’s practice focuses on advising private and public sector clients in connection with cross-border corporate and financial matters, including debt restructurings, securities offerings, structured financing, as well as mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. In recent years, Mr. de la Cruz has worked on numerous transactions, including security offerings, restructurings and refinancings in the United States, Latin America and Europe. Mr. de la Cruz’s corporate practice in Latin America is distinguished among the best in the region by Chambers Global, Chambers USA, Chambers Latin America and The Legal 500 Latin America. He is also recognized as a leading capital markets and project finance lawyer by The Legal 500 U.S. Mr. de la Cruz received an Abogado degree from the University of Buenos Aires in 1985, an LLM degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1987, and a Diploma from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in 1988.
Guillermo Jorge
Global Adjunct Professor of Law
Guillermo Jorge is a partner at Bruchou & Funes de Rioja, a leading law firm in Argentina. He heads the Compliance, Internal Investigations and Business Crime practice. A recognized expert in anti-corruption and anti-money laundering compliance in Latin America, Guillermo has been involved in a significant number of high-profile investigations and has led several legal reform processes in the region. He has extensively published on topics of his specialty and is a frequent speaker at international conferences. Guillermo is a lecturer at the International Anticorruption Academy, at San Andrés University and at Universidad Torcuato de Tella. He was a fellow at Stanford University (2002 and 2009), at the National Endowment for Democracy (2006).
Nahuel Maisley
Global Associate Professor of Law
Nahuel Maisley holds a Law Degree and a Doctorate in Law from the University of Buenos Aires, and an LLM in International Legal Studies from NYU Law. He is an Associate Researcher at CONICET, the Argentinean National Council for Scientific Research, and an Associate Professor of International Law at the University of Buenos Aires. He is also a fellow in the “InfraReg” project at the Institute for International Law and Justice, at NYU.
Nahuel has received a number of scholarships and awards, including the Hauser Global Scholarship, the Jerome Lipper Award in International Legal Studies, the Thomas Franck Scholarship in International Law, the Lloyd N. Cutler Fellowship in International Law, and UBACyT and DeCyT scholarships. His work, which usually combines legal and political theory with international law, has been published in various books and journals, including the NYU Law Review, the Annual Review of Law and Social Sciences, and the European Journal of International Law. In the past, Nahuel has been a visiting scholar at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) and at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (Heidelberg).
Julio César Rivera Jr.
Global Adjunct Professor of Law
Professor Julio César Rivera, Jr. is a partner at Marval O’Farrell Mairal in Buenos Aires. His expertise focuses on international arbitration, international investment law and complex and cross-border commercial litigation. He regularly acts as counsel in international commercial arbitrations under ICC and UNCITRAL Rules, involving the oil & gas industry, M&A transactions, construction disputes and electricity-related matter. He is also a professor at the Law School of Universidad de San Andrés where he teaches courses on International Investment Law and Conflict of Laws. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Universidad Católica Argentina in 1997 and obtained an LL.M from Harvard Law School in 2000. He also received his PhD in law from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 2008.
María Florencia Saulino
Global Clinical Professor of Law
María Florencia Saulino focuses on environmental law, federalism, and comparative constitutional law. She is a Global Clinical Professor of Law at New York University and a Professor of Law at Universidad de San Andrés, Argentina. Prior to joining the NYU Law Abroad faculty, she clerked for the Honorable Chief Justice Ricardo Lorenzetti in the Argentine Supreme Court. She joined the law faculty of Universidad de San Andrés in 2016 and served as Dean from 2017 to 2020. She directs the Public Law Center of Universidad de San Andrés. She has worked as a research consultant for the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, the World Bank, and the United Nations Development Program.
Professor Saulino holds a Doctorate in Law from Universidad de Buenos Aires and an LL.M. from NYU Law, where she was a post-doctoral research fellow at NYU’s Center on Environmental and Land Use Law.
