This month NYU Law’s Board of Trustees welcomed four new members: Lisa Marie Boykin ’95, Alex Levy ’14, Jubin Niamehr ’08, and Nathalie Urry ’20. With backgrounds that include business, entertainment, communications, and philanthropy as well as law, the new trustees bring diverse skill sets, experiences, and perspectives to their new roles as Law School leaders.
Lisa Marie Boykin ’95
Starting her legal career as a corporate associate at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, Lisa Marie Boykin ’95 transitioned to PBS, where she contributed to staple programming such as Sesame Street and documentaries by Ken Burns and Henry Louis Gates. Eventually, she negotiated a complex deal to license Schindler’s List from Universal Studios, which marked her foray into Hollywood. Since then, Lisa has worked as a business and legal affairs executive negotiating talent deals with actors, directors, and producers in the television and film industry. Boykin has held roles at Paramount Pictures, the Walt Disney Company, Annapurna Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers, and is currently director, business & legal affairs for the film group at Netflix.
Boykin has been a longtime board member of the Law Alumni of Color Association. In 2018, Boykin was honored with the Woman of Distinction Award by the Law School’s Women of Color Collective. “Her passion for mentoring diverse young voices, combined with her experience in a powerhouse industry such as Hollywood, are incredible assets for leading our Law School,” says Dean Troy McKenzie ’00.

Alex Levy ’14 is the founder and CEO of strategic communications firm A.H. Levy & Co. His writings on behalf of clients have appeared in publications such as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, the Atlantic, and Vogue. He has also written under his own name for the New York Times. In addition to being a leading media strategist, Levy is a speechwriter and vice chairman of the nonprofit theater company Playwrights Horizons. He has also produced eight Broadway shows: Sunset Boulevard (2024), Job (2024), Stereophonic (Tony Award, Best Play, 2024), Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club (2024), Alex Edelman's Just For Us (2023), Parade (Tony Award, Best Revival of a Musical, 2023), A Strange Loop (Tony Award, Best Musical, 2022) and Company (Tony Award, Best Revival of a Musical, 2022).
Before founding A.H. Levy & Co., Levy served as chief speechwriter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, as a vice president at the public affairs firm SKDKnickerbocker, and as a law clerk to Chief Judge Patti Saris of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He graduated magna cum laude from the Law School, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. Levy earned his BA with honors from Wesleyan University. ‘[Alex’s] combination of law, government, and the arts defines him as the kind of innovative thinker we champion at the Law School,” McKenzie says.
Jubin Niamehr ’08
As managing partner of litigation at Jacoby & Meyers, Jubin Niamehr ’08 focuses his practice on all types of personal injury cases. Niamehr has earned numerous awards for his extensive experience in personal injury law, including being recognized with the Super Lawyers Rising Star Award for 2015, 2016, and 2017.
Prior to joining Jacoby & Meyers, Niamehr was an associate at Latham & Watkins LLP in New York. After earning his BA in business economics from UCLA, he served as an investment banker at Piper Jaffray before enrolling in the Law School. He joined Jacoby & Myers as a partner in 2009. To date, Niamehr has secured verdicts and settlements in excess of $2 billion for those seeking justice from wrongful death and injuries. “Jubin’s background in investment banking and law, which enables him to draw on his experience in both worlds to secure justice for his clients, is representative of the fearless urge for innovation that characterizes NYU Law graduates,” McKenzie says.
Nathalie Urry ’20
Earning her MBA from NYU Stern in 2019 and her JD from the Law School in 2020, Nathalie Urry ’20 represents the third generation of Comfort family members to join the NYU Law Board. Applying her dual background in law and business, she serves as chief investment officer of alternative investments for the Comfort Family Office. Urry, who holds a BA in economics from Brown University, was previously a director at the Duck Pond Foundation.
“As a JD/MBA holder, Nathalie brings essential perspectives from the law and business spheres. I look forward to seeing how the Law School will benefit from her experience in both worlds,” McKenzie says.
