New York City Police Department Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly (LL.M. '74) was the subject of a profile in the October issue of Men's Vogue. Described by Mayor Michael Bloomberg as "smart" in both his dress and his management, Kelly has vigorously pursued counterterrorism measures to protect New York City and expanded his attention worldwide to anticipate new potential terrorist threats to the city's five boroughs. Kelly, who has been the U.S. Customs Service commissioner and head of global security for Bear Stearns, remains focused on keeping New York City safe: "When 9/11 happened, I really felt that I was out of the game on the sidelines, and I wanted to be back in. And I felt that I had something to add."
