Yom HaShoah, the Jewish Holocaust Remembrance Day is April 17th. We are bringing Holocaust survivor Sami Steigmann to campus to tell his story of surviving a concentration camp, emigrating to Israel, and eventually coming to America. His emphasis is learning from history, to combat hatred and prevent future tragedies. To learn (not to make comparisons with the past), how was it possible that ordinary people from Germany, Europe, and other countries, found it not only acceptable but required, to annihilate one group of people, the Jews. His story can be found here: https://www.samispeaks.com/samisstory
