Corporations and unions have always engaged in some form of political action to advance the interests of their respective constituents. There a rise in some quarters of corporate and union political activism on foreign policy and broader social issues. On the corporate side, there is also a contested movement towards ESG reporting regimes. What does this mean for union members, shareholders, customers, and staff whose views may not always align with corporate and union political stances?   What are the fiduciary and legal obligations and constraints, if any? Is there a need for change in public policy?
