US-Cuba Normalization Conference
40 Washington Square South NY ,10012 (view map)
We are very excited to announce a teach-in on Cuba, organized by the NY-NJ Cuba Sí coalition and cosponsored by both the NYU chapter of the National Lawyers Guild and NYU Laws’s Review of Law and Social Change.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 16 in Vanderbilt Hall, starting at 12pm (doors open at 11am) and tentatively ending around 5pm (with a break for lunch!). There will also be a livestream option.
Opening and closing remarks will be held in Greenberg Lounge with breakout panels in VH 218 and 220.
Speakers will include representatives from the Federation of Cuban Women, the National Union of Cuba Jurists, Cuban trade unionists, and international activists working to end the blockade on Cuba.
Topics will include the recently adopted Cuban Family Code (widely recognized as one of the most progressive the world), connections between the US and Cuba labor movements, and the urgent need for normalization between Cuba and the US and the end of the deeply destructive US blockade on Cuba.
More information and registration available here. We hope to see many of you there!
