This event is not open to the public.

All 1Ls interested in tax law and tax policy are invited to join an information session on April 7th at 1 pm regarding 2L student editorial positions on the Tax Law Review for the 2021- 2022 academic year. Professor Mitchell Kane, editor-in-chief of TLR, will provide an overview of the journal, including student editor responsibilities and the journal selection process. Current student editors will also be on hand to answer questions about their experiences on the journal, including questions about workload and expectations. All 1Ls are invited to attend this session and apply for journal membership, regardless of prior experience or exposure to tax law. The only pre-requisite is a genuine interest in learning more about tax law and policy.

In order to help give students a flavor of the type of scholarship that appears in the journal we will have a guest appearance from Jeremy Bearer-Friend, Associate Professor of Law George Washington Law School, who will present his article entitled Should the IRS Know Your Race? The Challenge of Colorblind Tax Data. This article appeared in Volume 73 of the TLR and has been having a substantial impact on policymaking in the Biden administration.
