Suspension Representation Project New Advocate Training

The Suspension Representation Project (SRP) is an advocacy group based out of NYU Law that trains law students across New York City to represent public school students in Superintendent’s suspension hearings and engages in systemic impact advocacy on issues of school discipline. SRP’s mission is to safeguard the right to public education by providing high-quality advocacy services to New York City public school students facing suspensions. 

SRP gives students an opportunity to develop meaningful legal skills including interviewing clients and conducting direct and cross-examinations while providing students and their families with invaluable support through an often confusing process.

This spring, SRP will be hosting one two-hour virtual trainings city-wide for people who are interested in becoming a student advocate but missed the trainings in the fall. If you would like to be involved in SRP as an advocate you must attend one of these trainings. No prior experience working with children or families is required.
