245 Sullivan Street NY ,10012 (view map)
On Monday, 4/17 at 1pm, SALSA will be hosting an event that explores the scope of surveillance by US law enforcement and administrative agencies against marginalized communities. We’ll be joined by Shaiba Rather at the ACLU and Shane Kadidal at the Center for Constitutional Rights, who will discuss a variety of topics, including the history of overpolicing and criminalization of Brown communities, evolving state and federal policies of surveillance that target Muslim Americans, and the legal and advocacy strategies used to combat these harms. Lunch will be served and those observing Ramadan will be reimbursed for a meal.
