This panel will include a discussion about the benefits of clerking with a distinguished panel of State Supreme Court Justices:

  • Justice Clint Bolick from the Arizona Supreme Court
  • Justice Anita Earls from the North Carolina Supreme Court
  • Justice Caitlin Halligan from the New York Court of Appeals
  • Justice Goodwin Liu from the California Supreme Court
  • Chief Justice Loretta Rush from the Indiana Supreme Court

All students interested in clerking are encouraged to attend.

Clerking for a state court provides graduates with an insider’s view of the court, an opportunity to improve legal research and writing skills and, most importantly, the chance to build a one-on-one relationship with an esteemed member of the legal community. State supreme courts are often primarily a court of discretionary review which means that the court only hears cases that it determines raise significant legal issues. We encourage you to attend the panel to learn more about clerking on a state supreme court.
