Who holds the power in financial markets? For many, the answer would probably be the investment banks, asset managers, and hedge funds that are often in the media's spotlight. But increasingly a new group of sovereign wealth funds (SWF), such as NBIM (Norway), PIF (Saudi Arabia), and INA (Indonesia), have become the most influential capital markets players and investment asset owners.

In Indonesia and many emerging markets, SWFs are increasingly becoming the economic driver and policy tool for development in their respective countries. One area of increased focus is infrastructure projects in emerging markets, a trend with the potential to impact economic development significantly in these regions. Furthermore, in the new digital economy, they increase their investments in digital infrastructure and green ventures for economic development at higher levels.

How will these SWFs evolve in the global capital markets and development agenda? Hear the latest from Bali, Indonesia B20/G20!
