The Solitary Confinement Project is a project of the student group, Ending the Prison Industrial Complex (EPIC). As a member of SCP's Interview Project, you will conduct interviews with people in solitary confinement in NYC jails (mostly Rikers) and draft their testimony to present to the Board of Corrections. The testimonies collected will be used to demonstrate that people remain in solitary despite Local Law 42 and to bring to light the conditions they face in those units and at Rikers generally. These interviews are primarily occurring through video calls, but an in-person option may be available.

The first introductory meeting and training is mandatory and will be held at 7:30 PM on Monday, September 16th. We will be joined by the Urban Justice Center's Mental Health Project. Refreshments will be provided.
