EPIC's Solitary Confinement Project will be hosting a workshop for students who are interested in participating in our Displinary Hearing Representation Project. In New York prisons and jails, incarcerated individuals often get frivilous or false disciplinary tickets that send them to solitary confinement or restrictive housing, and they need help beating the charges or allegations. We will be going over hypothetical cases and challenges, and will be joined by Riley Evans from the Legal Aid Society Prisoners’ Rights Project. SCP is committed to abolishing solitary confinement and ending the prison industrial complex, as well as bringing general awareness to how abusive prison conditions are. We partner up with multiple organizations throughout New York City and sometimes nationwide in order to contribute to this mission.
