A Road Less Traveled: National Security Careers After Law School – Rita Siemion
This event is not open to the public.
On Monday, October 17th, NSLS and the Reiss Center on Law and Security will co-host this year’s first “A Road Less Traveled” lunch event, featuring Rita Siemion. The series features career talks with national security law and policy practitioners in candid conversations about their paths after law school. Featured speakers hail from a diverse range of backgrounds—including government, advocacy, private sector, and/or scholarly work—and address both the details of their work as well as a broader view of their career trajectories.
Siemion currently serves as Senior Counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. Previously, she was Director for National Security Advocacy at Human Rights First, where she advocated for U.S. national security and counterterrorism policies that respect human rights and the rule of law, and prior to that worked on a range of national security issues as Senior Counsel at The Constitution Project, including surveillance and privacy rights in the digital age.
The event will take place in Vanderbilt Hall Room 202 on Monday, Oct. 17, from 12pm-1pm. Lunch will be served.
