We invite you to join us on Wednesday, October 4, at 5:00 p.m., when Ricky Revesz, Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), who is on public service leave from NYU School of Law, will present “Modernizing Regulatory Analysis.” The lecture will be held in Greenberg Lounge, 40 Washington Square South, New York, NY 10012.

Our friend and colleague Ricky Revesz is well-known to many of you. He served as the dean of the law school from 2002 to 2013. A distinguished environmental law scholar, he founded NYU’s Institute for Policy Integrity, a think tank and advocacy organization that promotes desirable climate change and environmental policies. From 2014 to his OIRA appointment, he served as the director of the American Law Institute. A year ago, he was nominated by President Joe Biden to lead OIRA and subsequently confirmed by the US Senate by a unanimous voice vote. OIRA, housed within the Executive Office of the President, reviews rules drafted by federal agencies and oversees the implementation of rules and regulations across the federal government. As a result, OIRA plays a central role in applying cost-benefit analysis to regulation, an area that Ricky has worked on throughout his career.

The lecture will be followed by a reception from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
