The TikTok ban: a legal congressional policy or an abridgment of our First Amendment rights (with a side of xenophobia)? The Supreme Court recently upheld Congress’s authority to ban TikTok from operating in the United States unless it cuts ties with its Chinese parent company. Does this assertion of Congressional power threaten fundamental freedoms—or constitute the valid, even if unwise, exercise of power to secure our country from a foreign adversary? Come hear Professors Chris Sprigman and Andrew Weissmann debate, respectfully disagreeing.
