Please join PILC for a Brown Bag lunch discussion with the Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz about a prosecutor’s role in the criminal justice system and her Brave Justice initiative. A life-long resident of Queens, DA Katz has spent most of her career in public service. She has been a legislator (first, as a member of the New York State Assembly and later, as a member of the New York City Council where she chaired its Land Use Committee), Borough President of Queens and, since January 2020, the District Attorney of Queens County where she has put together a diverse leadership team and, among other things, created a conviction review bureau as part of a commitment to implementing criminal justice reform.
