Please join EPIC's Parole Advocacy ProjectBALSA, and The Center on Race, Inequality, and the Law for Parole Board 101, where a panel of people who are formerly incarcerated will speak about their experiences preparing for and going before the Parole Board.

If you are feeling disconnected from the realities of the legal system's impact on people in your doctrinal courses, hoping to strengthen your client advocacy skills, or just want to hear from people who have been impacted by the criminal system about their experience going before the parole board and how we as law students can leverage our skills and privileges to support people in getting free - this is the event for you. The process of preparing and going in front of the parole board is unique in many ways, but the systemic barriers people face, as well as the advocacy skills most effective in fighting against them, parallel those relevant to the criminal legal system more broadly.
