Walter Harris, an insurance industry veteran, will be sharing his insights on the forces behind the dramatic increases in the costs of residential insurance both nationwide and specific to New York. Mr. Harris brings a wealth of experience from having been a broker, an entrepreneur, an advisor, a fixer, and a speaker.

About the Presenter:
Mr. Harris is an insurance industry veteran with more than 30 years of insurance, legal, and tax experience. Mr. Harris is the former President and CEO of FOJP Service Corporation and Hospitals Insurance Company (HIC). Prior to joining HIC, Mr. Harris was a senior advisor to The Related Companies and was also vice chairman of Alliant Insurance Services, Inc., one of the largest insurance brokerage firms in the country. Mr. Harris was president and CEO of T&H Group (formerly known as Tanenbaum-Harber Co. Inc.), a company he joined in 1980 and subsequently built into one of the largest privately held property/casualty and benefit brokers in the United States, prior to its acquisition by Alliant in 2011. Before joining TanenbaumHarber, Mr. Harris was a tax attorney at a Wall Street law firm. Mr. Harris received a BA from Stanford University, a JD from the University of California at Berkeley, and an LLM in taxation from New York University School of Law.
