Please join the NYU Furman Center on the morning of April 21st for a panel discussion on the scale of the opportunity to build affordable housing on land owned by Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs) in New York State and around the country.
As New York State considers the “Faith-Based Affordable Housing Act,” a proposal to require local governments to allow more multifamily housing on FBO-owned land, a panel of legal experts and practitioners will dissect the potential opportunities and challenges associated with leveraging such properties for housing development in New York. They’ll also explore the lessons learned from the adoption of similar policies in other jurisdictions that can help New York’s policymakers closely consider this potential strategy.
