We are pleased to invite you to By the Numbers: Geography of New Housing. The event will highlight the release of the NYU Furman Center's State of New York City's Housing and Neighborhoods in 2021 report.

Our focus will examine recent patterns of residential development and their implications for equity. It will look at the types of housing built in neighborhoods across the city, including housing built through the major affordable production programs as well as market-rate development. By analyzing the neighborhood characteristics and demographics associated with project type and volume, the report will help New Yorkers understand how land-use, funding, and other programmatic decisions can better foster integrated, inclusive neighborhoods as the city recovers from the global pandemic.

Panelists:

  • Lorraine Collins, Senior Director of Public Policy and External Affairs, Enterprise Community Partners
  • Councilmember Pierina Sanchez, Chair, Housing and Buildings Committee
  • Eli Weiss, Principal, Joy Construction Corporation

Moderated by: Professor Vicki Been, NYU Furman Center Faculty Director and Judge Edward Weinfeld Professor of Law at NYU School of Law
