Join NYU NLG for Disorientation! At the beginning of each academic year, NLG student chapters around the country organize Disorientation events to introduce 1Ls and the wider student body to the NLG and “people’s lawyering” in general. Disorientation is an invaluable opportunity to learn some of the ways lawyers can combat the cruelty that inhumane systems of policing, incarceration, poverty, et al. inflict on vulnerable peoples and reject power-serving ideas we are taught in law school. Disorientation is also a space to foster radical community here at NYU law: come meet leftist law students, leftist student organizations, and help build collective understanding of what it means to genuinely use law for the people.
