James Madison Lecture
NYU School of Law invites you to the James Madison Lecture. The lecture, "The Power of the Prior Conviction," will be presented virtually by Judge Jane Kelly, United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. This talk explores the scope and severity of the prior conviction’s impact on the federal criminal justice system and examines whether the type of information that a prior conviction conveys to the sentencing court is as useful or predictive as we think.
