Information Session on Study Abroad in Japan w. Bruce Aronson
U.S.-Asia Law institute
Date: Friday, November 8, 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Location: Wilf Hall, 3F conference room
This is an information session for interested students covering both current opportunities for independent study abroad in Japan and the possible establishment of an exchange program with a Japanese law school in the future. There will be an overview of relevant topics for study abroad including eligibility, timing, credits and potential partner schools. We will also discuss the potential availability of valuable enhancements for students on independent study abroad, such as an internship at a Japanese law firm or NGO. Finally, we will discuss the possibility of establishing an exchange program with a Japanese law school to simplify the study abroad process. Bruce Aronson, Adjunct Professor (Law and Society in Japan Seminar) and Senior Advisor, Japan Center, U.S.-Asia Law Institute, will be joined via Zoom by Taylor Wattach (JD 2020, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett associate), who went on independent study abroad at Keio University law school in 2019.
1Ls are particularly welcome, even if just to gather general information.
