The final argument of the Seventeenth Annual Immigration Law Moot Court Competition (“ILC”), hosted by NYU’s Moot Court Board, will be held on Sunday, February 13 at 1:00 p.m. The final argument will be judged by Judge Felipe Restrepo, Judge Albert Diaz, and Judge Marsha Berzon of the Third, Fourth, and Ninth Circuits, respectively.

This year, the competitors are tackling two questions about withholding of removal: (1) whether a protected characteristic must be "one central reason" for persecution; and (2) whether mental illness can be considered when assessing whether a past conviction is for a "particularly serious crime.”
