Healing and the Law
This event is not open to the public.
Join the Center on Violence and Recovery and the Center on Race, Inequality, and the Law to consider the true meanings of "healing" and to envision a legal system -- and world -- that honors these truths. Together in community, we will explore:
- What does healing have to do with the law, and what does the law have to do with healing?
- How does the law make us feel?
- In what ways does the law subvert what we believe to be true?
- How is the law a barrier to the world we are trying to create?
In this space, we commit to honoring the authenticity and the wholeness of our participants, and we invite you to feel comfortable and safe showing up as you are. Our conversation will be held int he form of a peacemaking circle and will be led by restorative justice and legal practicioners.
