February 23 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm: Graduate Law School Budgeting and Beyond – This session will provide information to help students manage their spending, save money, build and maintain good credit, and understand the basics behind student loan repayment. It will also highlight the key principles of money management, borrowing guidelines, credit card usage, identity theft, as well as tips on managing student loans in their final year of law school and beyond. In addition, this session will also focus on general facts about Bar Study loans and how they can help students pay for expenses related to studying for the Bar exam. We’ll cover typical eligibility requirements, how much can be borrowed, interest rates and fees, loan features and benefits, cosigners, and the typical process for obtaining a loan. March 4 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm: Investing 101 – this session will cover the basics for smart investing during and after law school. We will also cover investing for retirement and have time for a Q&A session. The presentation will be hosted by Rebecca Rothstein, Managing Director of The RVP Group. March 18 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm: Responsible Graduate Repayment Strategies- This presentation identifies important things students should know upon graduation such as knowing their loan portfolio, identifying their servicers and understanding the cost of their student loan. It will also outline information on deferment and forbearance options. Tim from the Office of Financial Aid will be able to provide more information about LRAP. Hosted by Sallie Mae.
