Join Nasir Memon and Randal Milch LAW ’85 in conversation. Deepfake technology enables anyone with a computer and an Internet connection to create realistic-looking photos and videos of people saying and doing things that they did not actually say or do. They will talk substantively about the new threats that Deepfakes bring to the cybersecurity landscape, legal implications, and the technology needed to identify them. Q&A will follow.

The NYU Center for Cybersecurity (CCS) is an interdisciplinary research institute dedicated to training the current and future generations of cybersecurity professionals and to shaping the public discourse and policy, legal, and technological landscape on issues of cybersecurity. NYU CCS is a collaboration between NYU School of Law, NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and other NYU schools and departments. The Center for Cybersecurity also offers the M.S. in Cybersecurity Risk and Strategy, a one-year program sponsored jointly by NYU School of Law and NYU Tandon School of Engineering. The program confers a new category of degree—one built around the interdisciplinary training and perspectives needed to address a new type of cybersecurity threat.
