DALSA's GBM: Open Board Meeting
245 Sullivan Street NY ,10012 (view map)
This event is not open to the public.
Join the Disability Allied Law Students Association (DALSA) for our October General Body Meeting. This month's meeting will be in the format of of an open board meeting: we'll work through the same kind of business and discussions we generally have in our internal board meetings, but will invite all attendees to join in, share their thoughts & perspectives, and take part in our decisionmaking process. For this meeting, we expect to work through the final details of upcoming events we're hosting, to vote on new board member positions, and to discuss our goals for DALSA's growing community and our relationships with other student groups at NYU Law. As always, the meeting will be an open forum: we're interested in hearing any and all ideas, concerns, and suggestions that members would like to raise!
We welcome new and returning members of our commuinty, and will provide lunch for those attending in person (and reimbursements for folks attending via zoom). Cuisine tbd! The meeting should last about an hour.
Background: DALSA is NYU Law's affinity group for people with disabilities and their allies. Our focus is on all disabilities including physical disabilities, mental health, sensory impairments, learning disabilities, communication disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and other impairments that substantially limit major life activities. We aim to provide space and community for folks with disabilities, to aid students with disabilities in securing accommodations and other needed support, and to advance change to help students with disabilities truly thrive at NYU Law.
