This event has passed.

In recent years, the once-robust US-EU partnership has faced increasing challenges. Legislative developments such as the Inflation Reduction Act and the latest US threats to impose tariffs have strained economic ties between these long-standing allies. At the same time, the war in Ukraine and its most recent developments have raised questions about transatlantic defense cooperation.

The European Legal Society (EULS) is delighted to invite you to a thought-provoking discussion on these issues with Ambassador Filip Vanden Bulcke, Belgian Consul General in New York, and Professor J.H.H. Weiler, renowned scholar of European law and international trade law. Our distinguished speakers will examine the economic, political, and legal dimensions of these shifting dynamics and their impact on European companies operating in the United States. A Q&A session will follow the discussion.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

This event is supported by the NYU Jean Monnet Center for International and Regional Economic Law & Justice.
