Ms. Shappert has served in a variety of roles over the years, including years of experience at the state level as both an Assistant Public Defender and an Assistant District Attorney, before moving to the federal level and serving as an AUSA, the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, the Assistant Director for the Indian, Violent and Cyber Crime Staff with DOJ Main, and now most recently as the U.S. Attorney for the District of the Virgin Islands.
