Join ACS for a fascinating conversation with Paul M. Smith, Senior Vice President of the Campaign Legal Center and a professor at Georgetown University School of Law. Mr. Smith has had a remarkable career as a civil rights litigator thus far, arguing 21 times before the Supreme Court and winning landmark victories in gay rights, First Amendment law, and voting rights and campaign finance. In addition to his current positions in academia and the nonprofit space, Mr. Smith has served as the chair of Jenner & Block's Appellate and Supreme Court Practice and co-chair of their Election Law and Redistricting Practice during his time as a partner at the firm. He also clerked for Judge James Oakes on the Second Circuit and Justice Lewis Powell on the U.S. Supreme Court after finishing law school.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for folks considering pursuing a career as a civil rights generalist, for those especially interested in voting rights and/or LGBTQ+ rights, and for anyone interested in clerking, litigation, or academia.
