The Building of a New Global Order -- A No Holds Barred Conversation
The Jean Monnet Center for International and Regional Economic Law & Justice at New York University School of Law, cordially invites you to attend the Sixteenth Annual Emile Noël Lecture on the State of the (European) Union on Wednesday September 20 at 5:30 p.m.
The Building of a New Global Order -- A No Holds Barred Conversation
with Josep Borrell Fontelles, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission.
It is hard to remember a time when the challenges to the world order were as daunting as they are today. The Russian aggression in Ukraine, USA-China-Taiwan, the new geopolitics of the Global South, a fraught international trading system, the never-ending Middle East quagmire, sliding democracies are just a few highlights or lowlights. It is also hard to remember a time where the presence (and absence?) of the European Union as an international actor was so strongly felt.
Josep Borrell, the High Representative (Foreign Minister in normal parlance) of the EU in conversation with University Professor J.H.H. Weiler will touch on these points and more.
A reception will immediately follow the lecture.
Registration is required. Please RSVP here.
