What made you decide to pursue a career in entrepreneurship/venture capital/start-ups after NYU Law?
I worked at a law firm and then in-house during the beginning of my career. However, when I learned about the $1 billion annual older adult financial exploitation problem, I decided to start SilverBills to help prevent older adult financial abuse.
How did NYU Law prepare you for this career?
NYU Law taught me to value focusing on the social good.
Why do you think lawyers find success in this career path?
Our training focusing on analytical reasoning and writing serves entrepreneurs well.
What was the biggest challenge you faced as a lawyer in this career path?
The inflexibility of traditional legal jobs towards working parents scheduling needs.
What is the most important thing students should do while they are still at the Law School to prepare for a career in entrepreneurship, in venture capital or at a start-up?
Be patient and persistent. Try to solve a problem.
What was the most important lesson you learned in your career thus far?
It is ok to take a calculated risk with your career path.
