Global Clinical Professor of Law Alberto Alemanno, who teaches at NYU Law Abroad in Paris, has been selected as a 2015 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Each year, the WEF recognizes distinguished leaders under 40 from around the world for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society, and potential to shape the future through their leadership. Alemanno’s nomination was prompted in part by his work toward innovating legal education via the Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) and NYU Law's clinical program.
This year’s 187-member class comes from 66 countries, divided evenly between the public and private sectors; it includes an astronaut, the youngest female mayor in Japan, an Afghan entrepreneur, and Kickstarter’s CEO. Alemanno, who also serves as the Jean Monnet Chair of EU Law and Risk Regulation at the HEC School of Management, joins 38 other leaders from Europe, Russia, and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
