What's New at the Law Library


ALERT Limited Library Access 

Along with the Main Reading Room and the Vanderbilt Hall Entrance, additional areas of the Law Library are now open, including the first and second basement levels in Vanderbilt Hall and the Balcony area under Sullivan Street.  The Law Library entrance through Furman Hall is also now open.  Areas on the lowest level of the Law Library, including Brown Atrium and Furman Hall annex, remain closed.

Movie Screening

Join us for Love Data Week 2026! The NYU Law Library invites you to a screening of the documentary E Kore Au E Ngaro [The Connection Remains], followed by a conversation on Indigenous data sovereignty with Prof. Jane Anderson (Law/Anthropology) and Tamar Ghabin of Local Contexts, an organization supporting Indigenous communities in reclaiming knowledge and governing how their data is collected, managed, and used. This event is co-sponsored by the NYU School of Law Library.

Finding Copies of Your Assigned Casebooks at the Library

The Law Library has print copies of many assigned casebooks and textbooks. Please search Julius, our classic catalog, under “Course Reserves,” or stop by the Circulation Desk.

We Are Open on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents Day

The Law Library will be open Monday, January 19, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, from 9:00am-5:00pm and Monday, February 16, 2026, Presidents' Day, 9:00am - 9:00pm.

Circulating Technology to Support Your Study

The Law Library has a wide range of lendable tech equipment to support your studies, including portable monitors, wireless noise-canceling headphones, laptop stands, USB desk lamps, and more. Dual monitors are available in the Sullivan Street Study Room.
